MARTA to Gwinnett?

A recent poll in Gwinnett County revealed that 63 percent of those questioned were in favor of expanding MARTA into the county, a figure that dropped to 50 percent when people were asked if they would pay a penny sales tax for it. Those results indicate Gwinnett may have turned the corner on transit, right? Not quite, writes County Commission Chairman Charlotte Nash, who says it’s not time for a MARTA referendum. A Gwinnett business leader, however, cites recent economic development news and says the county needs to consider all types of mobility, including transit.
